From the Oldham Chronicle (Monday 3rd August):
ROYTON returned to winning ways with a six-wicket home victory against
bottom-club Stand.
Some erratic Royton bowling - they conceded 44 wides in 59 extras - enabled
Stand to amass 145.
Martin Bell was the exception, claiming six wickets for 42 from 17.3 overs as he
tore through the Stand batting.
Royton cruised to victory in 34.2 overs, professional Iqbal Imam 50 not out
while Paul Hughes made a useful 36 in the middle order.
