THE highlight of Sunday’s low-scoring match against Royton, at Hare Hill, was
a hat-trick by Tate.
He dismissed Procter, Westphal and Hodson as Royton collapsed to 109 for nine.
Tate took the last wicket, for a return of five for 15 off 8.2 overs, as the
visitors posted 125.
Luke Procter, with 58, was the only Royton batsman to show any mettle, while
Brendan Miskella took the valuable scalp of Saeed Anwar.
Littleborough didn’t have it all their own way as they scraped to 126 for eight
in reply. Only Zaman (21), Tate (13), Deakin (13) and Nigel Hunter reached
double figures.
