Oldham Evening Chronicle
AFTER spending much of
the Lake Garage CLL season as the lowest-placed of
the four local clubs, Royton have ended the campaign
on a high.
Matthew Ward's men went into the final
weekend in front of their three rivals and a derby
victory over Crompton on Saturday and Sunday defeats
for all four meant the Paddock team secured local
bragging rights.
Royton's victory over Crompton at
the Paddock was set up by in-form fast bowler Shaun
Marais, who took four for 39 as the visitors were
bowled out for 108, Darren Graham hitting 58.
Royton scored the runs they needed for the loss of
only two wickets, Saeed Anwar hitting 33, Luke
Procter 32 and Ward 22 not out.
