SAEED Anwar made a fine start as Royton professional, but was unable to
prevent his side from slipping to a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Norden at
Woodhouse Lane.
Anwar made 64 from 68 balls, but did not receive enough support from his
team-mates as Royton were bowled out for only 124, professional Asif Mujtaba
taking four for 27 and Paul Carroll four for 31.
Mujtaba completed a fine all-round performance by scoring an unbeaten 54 as
Norden passed the Royton total with six wickets and more than 12 overs to spare.
But it could have been a completely different story had Mujtaba not been dropped
twice.
The culprits were Martin Bell at mid-off and skipper Matthew Ward at mid-wicket.
